Nice to meet!

I'm Limor Leibovitz.
I research, write, and teach out of a deep curiosity to understand how people learn, how creative thinking can be nurtured, and how technology—especially artificial intelligence—can support that process without losing what makes us human.

I began my journey in education

over three decades ago, teaching art, promoting creativity, and guiding educational teams. Along the way, I developed innovative tools for learning and teaching that combined artistic thinking with practical pedagogy.

My academic background is diverse: I earned my bachelor's degree from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, and later completed my master’s degree with honors in curriculum development at Tel Aviv University.

My graduate research—focused on the teaching practices of a Bible teacher working with new immigrant students—deepened my belief that great teaching is a blend of uncompromising professionalism and genuine care.
When those two come together, even the most complex topics can become accessible, engaging, and meaningful for every learner.

I founded this website

During my doctoral studies,  while researching how the use of visual representations in learning can enhance creative thinking and deepen understanding across disciplines.

What began as a small blog with a few short posts has grown into a rich resource featuring over 150 accessible, in-depth articles. Over the years, universities and colleges have regularly referred students to my site, and it now appears in the bibliographies of education courses across academic institutions.

The topics I’ve written about have evolved over time—from visual literacy and physical learning environments, to digital learning spaces and their impact on how we think, feel, and interact.
Today, my focus lies in the field of generative artificial intelligence and its transformative role in education.

When artificial intelligence

Limor leibovitz

burst into our lives, I realized we were witnessing a profound shift—one whose full impact we could not yet grasp.
I felt compelled not just to observe from the sidelines, but to actively explore this new reality.

I experimented with a wide range of AI tools for different purposes and founded a vibrant community called AI in Education for creators and early adopters. The deep conversations within this community continue to offer insights and often inspire new blog posts.

These discussions revealed an urgent need for educators to develop real expertise in the field.
Just two months after the release of ChatGPT, I launched my first professional development course for teachers in Tel Aviv’s district training center (Pisga).
That’s how AI in the Classroom was born—a course designed to help teachers use AI not as a replacement for human educators, but as a springboard for creative thinking and educational innovation.
Since then, I’ve led multiple cohorts of the course and conducted research on teacher learning, which I presented at the CHAIS Conference at the Open University—and included in my latest book, The AI Generation: Raising Children in a World of Artificial Intelligence.

A Bit More About Me

Every morning, I head out into nature to go kayaking.
I paddle in the sea and along the Yarkon River, and this practice helps me stay grounded—balancing the digital world with a deep connection to nature and to people.
It strengthens my emotional resilience, keeps my work with technology in perspective, and reflects the values that guide me: creativity, innovation, love of nature, and the ability to collaborate with others.

I draw inspiration from my hobbies, from conversations with colleagues, from podcasts and books. One book that has profoundly influenced me is Antifragile by Nassim Taleb. Taleb’s insights helped me see how major disruptions—like the rapid rise of artificial intelligence—can also be opportunities for growth and greater resilience.

I believe this is one of the most important challenges of our time: to raise a generation that is creative, emotionally strong, and capable of thinking beyond what machines can offer.
